Start Date
Only 9 days till our allocated start date. All was looking great until we were hit with an additional 2 Post Contract Variations this week. They were for a Occupation Cert and Hydraulics which EB have had the plans for since August. Not amused at all especially when i was told the week before they were only waiting on Documentation from the bank hmmmmm well they'd better start on the 30th or i won't be a happy chappy at all!!

DA APPROVED FOR BUILDING
YAY!!! Checked the website today to find we are approved although start date has been deferred until we have the septic sorted, I HATE SYDNEY WATER we wouldn't have this problem if we were connected to the sewerage system that either suburb beside us are. So Pump out here we come. Nothing like a second mortgage of poo pumping costs!!

Final Selections Carpet Tiles & Electrical
What a day!! It would so far be the worst day since we started our journey.
Firstly 9.30am Tiles & Carpet Selection @ Di Lorenzo, i had pretty much decided to go with the same colour scheme as the display Entertainer @ Kellyville until the cost of the first floor tile was $100 per square so i picked the closest matching from the builders range...Bathrooms were pretty similar, same problem with the floor tile however i did get my Italian imported Glass Mosaics on the shower wall in the main bathroom and ensuite. YAY!! Then on to the carpet, well as i'm building with my partner and my mother my choice was thrown out the window straight away @ $14 per square over our allowance, i gave in to a no win situation and settled for their selection although the right price i really don't like it!!
Next, 11.30am Electrical and the headache became my worst nightmare!!! After 2hrs our lighting and electrical bill came in at just under $15,000, thats right $15,000....I never in my wildest dreams expected that. Well we only have five days to make any changes so i better get to it.

DA - Hornsby Shire Council
Well we now have two DA's in at Council 1 for demo and 1 for construction. Should be interesting to see if anyone has a problem with what we are doing, also a little concerned about fire restrictions but only time will tell.

THE JOURNEY BEGINS............
This is my first blog EVER.. so please bare with me.
We are building an Eden Brae ENTERTAINER 35 on Sydney's Upper North Shore.
After visiting different display villages i finally convinced my partner that this was the one!!
Although i would of preffered the 37, i didn't want to risk getting knocked back from Hornsby Council due to the stupid 40% building ratio. Who would think that you buy your block and then get told what you can do with it!!
We signed the contract on 31st July and are going to the Home Options Gallery on Wednesday 12th August to choose our internal and external selections. This includes our bricks and paving which i'm having major trouble deciding on. I went out to PGH at Schofields and of course picked up some of the most expensive bricks they had. At this point i'm completely over the brick selection and have left this decision to my partner, God help him if i don't like what he has chosen!! Looks like it'll be a long day on Wednesday. I'll post some more then.
